What is a health walk?
Walking within East Dunbartonshire is a free activity to help increase physical activity in a fun environment lead by qualified Walk Leaders. The walks range between 30-60 minutes which are low level and ideal for anyone recovering from an injury or illness or just wanting to become more active.

Weekly walks?
There are consistent weekly walks leaving from various venues throughout East Dunbartonshire:
Monday mornings: Allander Leisure Centre from 10.30am
Tuesday mornings: Milton of Campsie; St Pauls Church at 10am
Tuesday afternoon: Milngavie Library at 12.00
Wednesday mornings: Lennoxtown at 11am
Thursday morning: Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre at 10.30am
Thursday morning: Sensory walk at 10.30am (venue can change)
Thursday afternoon: Buggy walk- Hillhead Community Centre at 1.15pm

Monthly health walks?
De Cafe has a short health walk (approx. 30mins) on the last Friday of the month from Kirkintilloch Baptist Church at 1pm from the back car park and on the First Tuesday of the month from Bishopbriggs.
ABI Cafe’s Rock n Roll Group is a wheelchair friendly walk starting at 3pm also from Kirkintilloch Baptist Church’s back car park and is on the First Thursday of the month.

Walking Football
We have worked closely with services involved with Dementia to bring a unique experience for individuals living with dementia to come along and try walking football. This is a weekly session every Wednesday afternoon from 1-2pm in Kirkintilloch leisure centre.
